Travelling to Europe

Recommended Posts

hey guys

travelling to Europe in about 3 weeks and just after some advice...

i own the Canon 600D twin lens kit (18-55is/55-250is lenses).

just wondering if theres any particular lenses i should look into buying, obviously doing mainly landscapes and main attractions...

also what settings i should be using...

very new to this so maybe should just use full auto LOL

cheers for any help

Kyle

anything wrong with the two lenses you have? if your just using auto it would probably be pointless spending thousands on new lenses.

that being said, a 10-20mm or similar would be a nice addition.

as for what settings you should be using. i find that ISO 80, F8 at 30 seconds (fluro white balance) works for me. But your milage may vary.

sounds like you need to read this...

For inside churches/temples/ etc you will need a faster lenses. As sometimes flashes aren't allowed.

See if you can pick up a 2nd hand canon 17-55 f2.8 lens or brand new if you got the coin.

Or like jay said the 10-22 will be great. Take the 55-200 for day time shots shooting from far.

When I went to europe 4 years ago I took a sigma 17-70 but found I need more reach. So take that 55-200 with you.

But for inside shots you will need a quicker lens than that stock one you got.

Or get a little tripod and do longer exposures. Cheaper than lens and shooting at 2.8 of so can lead to a lot of soft photos if your not careful or experienced.
