Is this a good price for smash repair?

Recommended Posts

Local guy from his house quoted me $1350 for an accident.. I'm supplying all the parts, bonnet, front bar etc etc.

- repainting front bar and fitting

- bonnet painting and fitting

- roof repair and paint - had dints etc from the bonnet pancaking

- painting a bit of the side of car from roof repair

- car buff

- fitting front grillie and new headlights

Not having an idea of price in this business - does this sound bad or good?

Thanks for your help!!

Get more quotes and find out?

It's the details that matter that can significantly alter the price.

yeah that's a decent price most panel shops would charge a bit more than that

Decent prices. Why can't you do the fitting yourself? Bonnet and front bar are no biggie to bolt up yourself.

Sounds like a fair price to me, it's good to ask around though. Also go with a shop that has a good reputation.

As good as it all sounds have you seen any of his other work or heard anything about it? Is he painting out of his shed or something? All good till it turns out crap and you're down $1350.

Seems rather expensive for a backyard respray..

From what youve listed hes respraying and fitting stock parts back on, unless your putting on a aftermarket body kit that may not fit properly so it requires more time, but if its litterally installing Stock Parts your paying over $1000 just in a backyard respray...

so you don't have to list as much they pay a fair rate where as racv you have to list EVERYTHING so you can make atleast a bit of money.. another thing is if the parts were brand new and genuine the prices on genuine brand new parts is threw the roof badges up to 50 each beaver panels up to $2500 it dosnt seem like much work or the part isnt that big but they cost alot
