chugging and no acceleration

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a 2000 WRX and when it reaches 2500rpm starts chugging and there is no smooth rapid acceleration. I changed the spark plugs and spark leads and the problem still exists. My mechanic told me that its the turbo and a friend of mine said that might need a tune. The only mods to the car are a pod filter and an x-force turbo back exhaust system. Would greatly appreciate if someone can help me with this issue.

Hey mate I have a 2006 wrx and have had a exhaust system just recently fitted. I have that exact problem that you are describing! Mine was the active multiplier was down at 0 and it has to be at 1. I got the computer reset and that seemed to fix it but comes and goes so not sure why it happening. I am going to have a full service to help eliminate some factors.

Good luck :)
