I do abit of work at my dads Garage during school holidays and after school sometimes. Uh the stupid and funny shit ive done there, well me(and another NS member who works there) thrashed a rental forklift (which was still in good shape when we gave it back) at the start of the year when it was pouring, so at the back it was heaps muddy and just doing laps in a big empty yard is fun, and suprisingly never got bogged. Then this NS member took his twin cam rolla and we were just doing stupid shit. Um a few weeks ago i was driving my go kart around the block which scared the shit out of me as driving full throttle on some small street behind the workshop was just too Dangerous:P. Um i remember a few years ago during some time when tyre slashings were happening, this guy bought a tyre of us which we fitted, few days later comes back with that tyre(slashed but still inflated) and insisted that we sold it like that. But otherwise when im not doing anything im just on here.

I work as a field service tech. at this forklift place that you speak of, and man, dealing with forklift drivers/owners all day is eventful to say the least. They always want to tell you their life stories while you're trying to get their forklift going. :S

Your dad's old yard would have been awesome to race around when its empty.

Project Manager for a construction company (AUSCO). Was a chippy but got off the tools to sit in front of a computer all day and get bored out of my brain. Still when its busy its fun.. lots of shit to organise and prep with clients, suppliers and manufacturing. Doing all modular buildings ATM for mine camps, power stations and heaps of switchrooms for the same. Pretty technical job cause you need to have experience in heaps of different constructive roles, but theres always support from other tradies etc.

Not a hell of a lot of funny shit goes on, just the usual interoffice banter, but we do get a bbq every month and heaps of social club outings like the races etc.

Doing a sports traineeship at a secondry school at the moment. Get to sit around doing f**k all most the time, but a fair bit of cleaning. Upside is lots of surfing / rockclimbing / canoeing etc. Also work at coles stacking shelves every now and then.

Tell me how that is when you start I was thinking of doing that seems pretty easy to get one as there is a pretty big demand and then you can charge a crapload.

I work in IT for ****.

Interesting stuff:

- There's some interesting types here. Some full blown autistic people. Incredibly smart, but weird as fark and no social skills. One dude eats his lunch in the exact same spot every day outside, rain hail or shine.

- Office sports are rife. Soccer, cricket and footy are usually the go. Footy ruins the f*ck out of everything. Thank god for HP warranties.

- Work functions rock. Most people here are heavy drinkers so we usually break a few social barriers each time we go out, and usually create a few more too.

I work in a call centre funny things happen everyday love it lol people trying to gain access to accounts that not in there name like a female trying to gain access to a males account im like your not eg :fred and shes like yes i am!

people talking about other companies eg but they can do this or that and im like well i dont work over there and the customer is like oh.....thats right lol

Tell me about it.. I work in a call centre for a major bank. I like it, however its definately a very strict place to work with for privacy reasons.

Having said that, my team (yeah, we get broken up into teams) is pretty relaxed, we all get along and joke around and stuff.

Best part of the job is the customers. Of course there is always mr cranky pants who hasn't been laid in a month and wants to take it out on me, but thats life. The good customers outweigh the bad, definately!!

Probably one of the more random and cool things that happened to me is that a ns.com member once called up and we had a mad chat about cars and stuff :) I've also spoken to someone who grew up in my suburb and works alongside my best friend

A bit of advise but.. you really HAVE to like talking and like people to be successful in a call centre. We get so many new people who start and quit after a week saying "I didn't know I had to talk on the phone all day!" or "I didn't know I had to sit in front of a computer for 7.5 hours a day!" >> weird huh?!

Yes Teams! im in a team called team SHREK lol! its fun and takes the stress out of the day

LOL I laugh at customers saying this and that eg i had a customer not happy and he wanted to get $80 from us if a computer tech cane to his house then couldnt fix the problem and blamed us i said no lol then was like il hire a lawyer and take it to court im like you cant still do that but we will not pay you and his like fine i will i laughed at that point and was like "um a lawyer and court is going to cost more than $80, so if thats how you get your kicks then thats fine" lol some people these days

But in saying that with those angry customers i dont take it personal im like meh have a cry lol next customer

LOL how did you know they were into cars and a NS member?????

hey mate, wouldnt happen to know anyone who knows anyone who can help someone get a gig on site do yah ?

he's a driller offsider but will soon have the expeirience to be a driller and has experience working underground drilling for Iron Ore.

even if you can forward his resume to the hr manager on site would be great...cheers

i work in a resturaunt/bistro.

everyday i pretty much take dockets to kitchen, collect meals from kitchen, give meals to customers, collect plates from customers then return plates to kitchen to start the cycle again.

it pretty cruisy when i get lunch shifts but fridays and weekends are shocking, i i just dont understand why some people can be so rude to a completyly random person.

last week had a wedding where the bride was italian and the groom aboriginal, not to be racist or anything but his side of the family were drunk by 7:30 and the wedding started at 6:00.

was funny because i was the only runner aloud in by myself as the girls are hot and only 18 so they would have had to much attention from the blokes on the sauce.

was a nice wedding though, he seemed like a decent bloke who got a good deal with his missus.

again, i'm not racist!
