Got a wedding I am going to tomorrow, and will be taking my 40D along.

It's going to be held in one of the halls in Crown Casino.

Any tips I should know beforehand? I'll be using my 17-85mm lens, with stock flash.

I dont think we can part with the body only man - cos its a customers camera who put it on sale - have to call him up and negotiate for u and even if he decides to sell it body only, u wont save much, kit lens arent worth anything at all. :(

we also have the old Canon D60 for $300 with battery grip HAHAHA, this is the model before it went to the 10D.......

ummm consider it sold...

M

The abnormal 30D is going to be retired to a studio (where the grey card is going to be used) and it will shoot products for work

the shutter release button is slow and faulty, its a common trait for the 30D... the whole top secton needs to be replaced to fix it...

I am busy as the next 4 weeks though, so i cant help with the weddings...

:(

If i buy it i can join the Canon Pro Society

as it is a "pro model!" yet a 20D would out shoot it!! LOL

how much was it new??

LOL no idea how much it was new, its been sitting there for ages, ancient piece of thing!

just sent u a PM too Mike.

guys I have an MB-D80 battery grip for the Nikon D80 and the new D90 also. Good condition and evrything working fine. I love grips because it allows u to shoot vertically much easier, good for portraiture and studio work. As well as extending the cameras life with another extra battery for twice the duration.

will sell for $120 inc postage to you anywhere in Aus :)

okay im a bit stuck im gonna get a 'nifty fifty', but for something wideish i was considering the 17-40 or the 10-22, im not sure which to go, im not rich enough yet to afford a full frame but i want something reasonably wide. can anyone point me in the right direction?

I will recommend the Sigma 17-70, best bang for your buck lens for under 1k. Wider than the 17-40 and faster aperture too, with its near macro mode of 1:2:3 and focusing distance of an inch from the subject is great.

will post up my photos from Lonely Planet in Japan and HK/China and Malaysia if u want to see how it performs.

Ok here are some pics from the Sigma 17-70 - all JPEGS from camera, with 3 raw converted, which is rare when I travel unless I have time. One shot has been edited as u can see in order to enhance a story i was writing about teen depression in Japan.

I dont recommend traveling with an L lens, due to the size and weight. Good travellers blend into the locals not stand out like a sore thumb that shows wealth and 'ROB ME' label over their heads
