STAY THE MOTHER f**king COURSE

Recommended Posts

Let me address something really quick

Yes i had a mint s14 track car with killer reliable Sr setup

yes i re-shelled into 350z vert

yes i parted it out due to a failed relationship and losing my house

yes i f**ked around with a heap of shit box's for a year or so working part time with f**k all cash to finish anything.

Now i moved back to my home town and working full time at my old job. Sold up everything and started fresh. Here it is

The kranzes were awesome but i didnt want to buy a heap more of them, and didnt want to destroy them so they have moved on.

The front got a cut

IMG_2736_zpsbf640d9a.jpg

And then tubed it all together, used some trick rose joints to make most of it adjustable and get the fit just right. And a bit nicer than just some bolted up tube.

Just finished removing seam sealer and sound deadener from wheel archs and bay, finished stitch welding one side but got other side to go then engine bay will get painted.

Rear copped a pretty decent chop aswell, got some more i want to take out tho.

Also just picked my new G-Force GF4A 4 speed dogbox

Amazing bit of gear, also got a direct clutch services twin plate to go with it and CRS cast alloy bellhousing to bolt up to the RB.

Full driftworks catalog except the LCA's front and rear and front knuckles. Im modifying the stock rears with dimple gussets and the front lca's and knuckles are from C's garage (on there way now) Will get some pics of that when they arrive.

Missing rear knuckles in this photo, shipped seperatly, think you can see them in the rear cut pics tho.

Well you certainly made a comeback after all your past problems. Build is pure madness. I remember the thread about the 350z vert... was pretty cool.

Here is the clutch to go with the new gearbox, Direct Clutch Services twin plate. Have heard great things about them and i know a few people who have just abused the life out of them and they just keep going. Which should suit my driving style well haha.

Also smashed out about 10 hours of removing sound deadener and seam sealer :/ all stitched up now and ready for engine bay paint. Going to paint the inner guards and chassis rails in stone proof paint.

Did ya get much change for 10,000 when ya bought that box?

i got a little, i was pretty lucky i got it from someone i knew who was splitting there RB powered car down and it had this box so i grabbed the entire conversion for a good price.

Box only has two dyno sessions and 4 track days so its still brand new, at retail after you factor in clutch, bellhousing, slave, tailshaft and some fab work its 10k all day long tho.

Here is a quick video of my engine running, i started with a completely running 180sx doner car. Its actually Stewy's (nisskid) old r32 gtr front *milkshake* from japan. It had had a few little changes when i got it and some things i wernt happy with (only original part of the turbo setup is the actual T78) so ive swapped out what i wanted and got it all up to spec.

Just cam gears and timing belt and a new fuel rail to go. And got some new nitto intake and exhaust gaskets ready for it.

AWS Graphics from NZ just completed the livery for the car. Pretty stoked with how it turned out.

I gave Andrew a few pictures, some of my orange s13 with rb26 (lewy's old car that i dropped a 26 into) Then some pics of my snow camo S14.80 and then finally some pics of Matt Powers S14 with the diagonal split from front corner to rear corner. And this is what he came back with. Nailed it first go, so pumped on it.

Finally got talked into selling up my power fc and AFM setup, and just picked up Haltech PS2000 with full rb26 loom and a racepak dash. Was going to buy a stack dash anyway and i picked all this stuff up super super cheap. basically the cost of a dash after i sold the power fc and afms.

Haltech PS2000, custom loom for RB26. 5 bar map sensor, intake air temp sensor, oil temp sensor, oil pressure sensor, stand alone harness with fuse box incorporated with a racepack data logging dash

Just a quick copy paste there, boost controller built in and stuff. Pretty happy with it, even tho i didnt really want to do it.

I will be keeping a spare sensor for everything in the toolbox for the track, And whoever tunes it will be teaching me the ins and outs of it so i can figure out whats going on if its acting an asshole at the track.

Also engine bay paint soon, and a heap of engine bits coming so it can go back together. Cant wait for Tax time

Are you retaining stock ITB's? Been a long time since I focused on specifics with map sensors, but I was under impression map sensor + no plenum = trouble? Or are haltech's smarter than dinosaur PFC's in that regard?

Finished the rear chop up over my last few days off, finished installing the last of the rivnuts aswell.

IMG_3727_zps4e9bc5a5.jpg

Made up a handy little storage wall aswell. These kits are on sale for $6 at bunnings atm! you get a sheet of the hanging plate, 4 green buckets and 2 red buckets in each kit. Buckets are usually $6 each and the hanging sheet $35! Killer saving and works a treat. I just mount a piece of ply to the wall and then the hanging sheets to the ply.

IMG_3783_zps41d8e8e7.jpg

And rigger up a ghetto shifter, 25x8mm bar stock... honestly cant think of a better way to do, got to center the shifter back up over the box. Someone said they were worried it would bend with hard shifting but i dont think so.... Thoughts?

Top work so far mate, i like where youre going with this.

Engine build is all finished at Advance, Sam and George did a killer job and an awesome price sorting the whole thing out. Gave me heaps of advice and guided me through the build.

Heres some pics, waiting for the last few with the installed nitto oil pump and sump back on.

Been busy!

quick summary, box didnt fit, also new engine mounts stopped the engine from fitting aswell. so made new engine brackets, cut out the tunnel, made a new gearbox mount on the body for the gearbox crossmember (mounts to chassis rails now.) And built a new tunnel. about 30 hours work in 4 days ontop of a full time job just to get it to paint on saturday morning. Which was a success!
