  1. im in need of a extended/baffled sump for sr20, but the cheaper ones have a tapered pipe plug as the sump plug. is there a version of cheap sump available with a normal copper washer sealing sump plug? (i am not a fan of the tapered plug for the drain.) or will i need to buy a moroso, genuine trust or tomei sump? can some people give me some feed back on there copy sumps, and if they are happy with its quality, and if any of them were made to suit stock drain plugs, not tapered ones? want to know if it is worth the extra $ in getting a genuine branded sump. thankyou.
  2. if he let the chain slacken down the timing cover it can slip teeth on the crank sprocket. the little lug on the oil pump isnt quite tight enough to stop the chain moving.

found some more shots. so heres a photo dump. this is one of the brackets that got ripped off the body at easter. bent the diff housing, the axle, broke the disk, ripped the panhard bracket off the diff and smashed a wheel. new r31 diff to fix the damage from easter.

seeing as this thread got a shout out i thought i better update it! car was tuned and has been on two track days, both very eventful. made 246rwkw on 20psi, and drives like a absolute animal! took it to jdm park at easter and crashed it pretty badly, destroying the whole rear end in a big way. got all that damage repaired, took it back to make sure it still drove square and wasnt any hidden chassis damage, and lost 60psi of compression on cylinder one. so back to the drawing board, and time to save for some strong internals and get it back asap. finished the new radaitor support panel, removable center peice. installed, just waiting for pipework and paint. dyno sheet. loving the t518z's power curve. like being hit in the ass with a rocket haha test shot from after the crash. loving the lock this car has. now that the car was all ready for track time, thought id pull my finger out and build a car trailer. only decent shot i have of it finished, just got to blast and paint it and will be sorted. tows like a dream!
  5. When I built my corolla the manifold that came with my sr20 didn't have a idle air valve. I made a blanking plate and it idled fine hot cold whenever. Is it really that necessary? I'm currently peicing together a s13 onevia with sr20det and wouldn't mind loosing the iac again, but unsure how it will go on the streets compared to my track ke70. Any help or links etc would be great.
  6. coolant line removal sr20

iv ran my sr20det silvia on the street with no iacv at all and it runs fine. just a little bit rough to idle or drive off straight away on a cold morning but all good apart from that. if you remove the iacv, just got to set the base idle by the adjustable stopper on the throttle wheel.

ahahaha thats on my mates bluebird! stolen from my wall! haha

  9. The modified/ aftermarket knuckle thread

has there been any thought on something like this for s13-14/15? i know there is stupid amounts of things available for these chassis already, but for a street/drift car they would be ideal. if you go over the pits or just dont want to drive with modded knuckles on the street its just 4 bolts away and a quick adjust and its back to stock. anybody get where im coming from?
  10. Epic car fail thread

took me a little whyle to see the blue trimmings, was fixated by the stupid tail lights haha

more progress!! tailshaft spacer made, tailshaft in. gearbox crossmember and mount done. got abit fancy with it but turned out pretty well. and some gauges. had never really had any gauges in this apart from a boost gauge. now has digital water temp, oil temp and oil pressure. cable ties for the win. haha not long now and it will be done ready for tune. just fit radiator, intercooler and panels. will be finished in no time! getting keen.

nope nether can i making a new clutch hard line tonight then got to spend some time on the lathe making up this tailshaft spacer.
  13. Fabrication Pics Thread

here is some stuff i made for my track car yesterday. my tig welding is improving, but still need much more practice. last of all, a close up of one of my tig welds. its probly crap in the eyes of a pro welder. but im pretty happy with it

had a quiet saturday night in the shed. made some decent progress. now to make the new gearbox xmember and tailshaft spacer. all coming together finally. had solid engine mounts but they got really annoying after awhile. i struggled to find gauges that could take the vibrations and live more than a track day. got creative and made these. because i moved the motor back in the engine bay, the plenum took up the room where the clutch master cylinder sat. finally found a position that worked in the cab. last of all, a close up of one of my tig welds. its probly crap in the eyes of a pro welder. but im pretty happy with it
  15. 180sx, FINALLY back on the road.

put the airbox back on for sure. feed a cold air pipe to it like a 3" flexi pipe or something with a drop in upgraded filter. gives you better low end response and doesnt effect the power level. (as long as there is a bigger air feed to it.) love the car! looks so clean.

next installment. being a budget build, im making new engine mounts to move the motor back another 50mm in the engine bay, making the tailshaft only 40mm too short. going to make a tailshaft spacer to take up the rest, and will be sweet, no new tailshaft needed! finnally got around to mounting my oil cooler. only place it could go was in the tub. looks alittle rough but will work a treat.

  19. lumpys street onevia

hey all. sharing my build of my street car onevia. has been in the build for nearly a year now, working on it whyle my corolla is sitting waiting for parts. seeing as the silvia was a bare rolling shell most of the parts that got it running was all spares for my corolla. thought id put them to use instead of them all sitting in the corner collecting dust. has made for a cheap project haha made a full new wiring loom from scratch for everything and stripped the engine harness to bare minimal. no iacv, no knock sensor, no O2 sensor, no boost control solinoid. has all been tucked and hidden. engine bay looks bare, but its in full running state as it sits in the photos. (needs windscreen and paint and it will be finished) chekit! hope you like it. in the process of re-wiring it. made custom hardlines to tuck and neaten the power steering return lines. many thanks to the local plummers the switch panel i made to control pretty much everything apart from blinkers/lights my first attempts at lobster back pipework. one day i will replace them all with stainless lobster pipes. and this.... well i got bored and wanted to see if it would work. it does and its diffrent. lol started to sort out my tyre pile from drift. just a couple haha
  20. lumpys street onevia

Haha yea she will take some time to get used to a Coilover'd import after driving in ether my territory or a Mazda 3 but she's a trooper Will get a little more low soon but want to spend some time on the streets this hight for awhile let the cops see it at a not so obviously illegal hight haha want to have half a chance of driving it before it gets defected
  21. lumpys street onevia

well. the day has come. new windscreen, dodgy spray job and its on the streets! windscreen went in at 11pm last night washed it multi coloured to get all the paint dust off and gave it a quick rattle can job. looks nasty up close but will be getting painted properly once the rego runs out in the kh2 gtr gunmetal grey. let me know what you think.
