has there been any confirmation on the difference between the td06 with the -61 garret wheel and the version without it. they are the same price to buy either one that's all.

From the info i gathered, The 20g compressor wheel is tried and tested, seems to have great results when paired with the td06 turbo
The 60-1, on the td06 has not, Maybe this wheel is more suited to a bigger exhaust wheel?

anyway there have been people achieving over 300kw with the td06- 20g, so i recon its the pick of the bunch.

I dont wanna steal the thread Luke but what do you reckon would be good for a 1jz?

Ive had a look on ebay at the turbos and i think this one might be best suited: Ebay Link

Guys lemme know what you think? Would i be better off with the 10cm ex housing or the 12cm one?

If anyone is interested we just changed our mind last minute on the turbo set up for our drift car as we wont be able to get some things done in time so selling either the turbo by its self or as a kit with steam pipe manifold, waste gate, lines ect brand new never been used, its the t3 inlet with v band rear external gated version we have made 300kw pretty consistantly on this set up on 20psi

Interested if low mounted!! how much?
its td06 20g yea?

I guess it could be low mounted but its still an external gated one its not the t2 internal gate low mount, you wont make much more than 260-270 with that one, im wanting pretty much what we paid which was i think 840

No not at all. Mass
Produced turbochargers at an affordable price, no not really. Yeah I wish to spend like $4000 on a hks turbo, or have a cheaper yet reliable turbo that's easy to find & cheap to buy.

you dont think cheap turbos can be good? how sick do you think precision turbos are? i know there has been a lot of talk about them lately and powertune has been using them alot, but guess how much they cost me from the states.....about $700 delivered for the 500hp units all the way up to there big bessies, doesnt mean there shit cause they work quite well.
garrett has been increasing there prices steadily for years but they have a long lasting name that people can trust.
most of the jap turbos are just slightly different versions of them or cheaper bush bearing older technology turbos they just have massive jap tax on them.
there is no reason why companies like kinugawa and precision cant make just as good of a product for half the price.

But yeah if your gonna try fight with brand names dont put precision in that catagory as its in the same catagory as kinugawa.

incorrect, these are not like your typical t3/t4 turbo you used to get on ebay for 250 bucks, and they arnt like theold hypergears where everything just look so cheap and nasty and they didnt work any where near as good as they where suposed to.
these td06 copies work exactly the same as the legit td06 if not better also being water cooled as well allows for much more efficient power after multiple runs or a long time on the track which original trust turbos failed with.
i havent heard of anyone having one stuff up yet or any signs of wear and we have been using them for quite some time now.
and then when you see a garrett gt3071r pack in after 6 months you loose a little bit of faith in staying with brand names all the time.
the ease of rebuilds or the price of a replacment defeats the extra coin you would spend on a legit one.

So yeah i would say they are keeping up with them, the quality in the castings and components are there, the match in power is there and the price is half so yes its keeping up with the rest.

So you say im incorrect then state they are copies..
Im not bagging them I've considered trying one out for the hell of it, for the price who cares right, but I think people should take a step back before saying they are keeping up.

Thanks Donny that's basically what I was getting too.
They are keeping up and from what I have seen the casting is flawless and I'm about ready to sell up my Garrett gt2871r and test one of tgese L2 td06 units that every1 is raging about, for bush bearing twin cooled the power curve is unbelievable. Kinugawa FTW. I'd take one of these over a $2400 twin scroll gtx3071

300kw for under $1000, that's nothing to sneeze at. Especially when it's all been good feedback and positive reviews. Even Garrett would have crawled before it ran true...

If you're paying $2400 for at TS GTX3071, I'd suggest you start shopping elsewhere.

Ive got the T2 style SL2-20g and it bolted up perfectly to the stock manifold and sits under all the stock heat shields.

Ill never go back to a GAYrrett turbo after this. Ive already busted two Garrett turbos that just ended up in the bin.

The quality is up there. they also come with all the lines and metal gaskets too.

-       Turbine wheel: 54.1/61 mm (TD06SL2 / 11 Blades Inconel Wheel)

Agreed, definitely not some poorly made turbo. Quality is up there with the best.

Try finding a bad opinion about these turbos from people who have used them.

The only bad opinions will be from people who paid premium for jap turbos

Maybe they should start charging $1800 for a turbo. It might change peoples minds.

I wasn't ragging on these turbos at all. I have a kinugawa td06 l2 in trust housings so I'm not bagging them. Just seemed like Bradshaw was saying that these are the only turbos keeping up with Garrett. I disagree. Had nothing to do with quality or price
