That's good to hear. The way the fuse works is that its the 'weakest link' if there is a short or overcurrent. The fuse element breaks before the cable gets too hot and starts to melt.

So if you put a bigger fuse in than the cable guage, the cable will heat up instead, melt the surrounding insulation and possibly start a fire.

On your fuse cover lid you should have the recommended fuse ratings.

If any of you guys need your air con fixed L.B Luu knows his shiz, is affordable and is a mobile aircon man, you can contact him on 0412 167 318

I booked him for the following week for a service.. So he is good and reliable eh? I was a little bit worried as he doesn't work for a shop so if something stuffs up he could just go away..hah

Does he give you invoices and stuff?

Hey hayley, if you want your air con checked out. take it to red devil radiators at lawnton and ask them to take a look at it if he not busy. Or i can ask him when i there next what price he could do your air con for if you want, because i know the guy that runs it. You got me numba or pm me if you want me to see what deal i can get you.

check the sticker near the radiator.. indicates which refrigerant is used.

if it says R12 then it might be a bit trickier, but i can try chucking some 134 in to replace it.

Is this the scooby with the black 180?

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but I'm trying to get my aircon working in my 94 180 and its come down to just needing the ecu (Vipec) to see an aircon request from the air con controller. After studying some wiring diagrams, I thought it was wire number 41 on the ecu harness, but I cant seem to get any signal from the aircon control unit on this wire.

Anyway, stumbled on this self diagnostic test and everything looks fine, except when I cycle through the temp readings in test 5, I only seem to get two readings instead of three, the output reads: 5, 35, 35 as I cycle the test. I'm assuming here that the '5' refers to the test number and not a sensor reading. Any help would be great.

Does the compressor kick on? If you have no gas the compressor will not turn on even its its totally fine.

Also, dont quote me on it but I dont think the ECU has anything to do with the aircon. The climate control unit is sort of the computer for the AC. The compressor only has 1 wire coming from it which I assume goes all the way to the climate control unit so its nothing really fancy. Once you press the AC button the compressor will kick on and you can control the flow with the unit.

Sorry mate your all wrong
The climate control sends a signal to the ecu and then the ecu sends a signal to the ac magnetic clutch relay and it powers the ac clutch
Also the ecu won't send a signal unless there is gas as there is a pressure switch on the receiver drier
